About the Food Forest


Our Community School Food Forest
We are very fortunate at Mandama Primary School to have a beautiful, large area dedicated to growing food
AIM:
-
to create a beautiful garden ecosystem, that is diverse and high yielding
-
To develop a multi-faceted program and infrastructure, where the seven layers of the Food Forest offers a diverse range of experiences for the students, teachers, volunteers, families and community.

To improve the garden area at both the Jenolan Avenue and Church street entrances
-
To develop a clear and effective framework for the continuing success of the garden.
OBJECTIVES:

To nurture a sense of community.

Encourage inclusiveness, communication and creativity.

To GROW opportunities for students to re-connect with this 'green space' in a meaningful, seasonal, productive and satisfying way.

To demonstrate to our school community about the benefits of growing and eating where you live, provide healthy foods with sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
